Using 500 US ton Liebherr and 550 US ton Grove all terrain cranes, Imperial Crane Services in the US executed a tandem lift to pick a 102 US ton reactor from a barge.

Heavy transport and lifting company ALE based in the UK has been awarded its largest contract to date.

The man, James Delayo, 60, the acting chief inspector for the Cranes and Derricks Unit at the city’s Department of Buildings, oversaw the issuing of city licenses for crane operators.

The crane will help the hotel builders reach the height that will make it the tallest building in Charlottetown, if not on the Island.

This system can detect the angle, weight of load lifted and ground radius of your crane. The crane is fitted with multiple sensors for each of the measured parameters which are then displayed in the operator’s cabin to keep them informed.

“For the last couple of months it is zero, totally dead,” David Semple, managing director of Manitowoc Cranes, said of the number of orders the company has received from Dubai.

Dutch construction company Dura Vermeer has installed camera/monitor systems across its entire tower crane fleet in order to aid its crane operators and improve safety.

The spandrel being placed was 120 feet (37 m) long and weighed 150,000 pounds (68 metric tons).

Four Liebherr container cranes already operate at the port, the second and third were post panamax units delivered in 1992. The first was a tango type, delivered in 1978 and the fourth arrived in 2004.
