When the crane was first invented (that would be around the time of the Ancient Greeks), it wasn’t very easy to move around. The whole practical application of the early crane was basically rooted in the idea that a solid stationary point could provide a fulcrum for applying an upward lifting force: which is why we see the anchor holes for static cranes in the front of the remains of Ancient Grecian temples and villas.

ISA’s Updated Crane Safety Training in 40 Locations

The International Sign Association’s updated Mobile Crane Operator Safety Certification Training, which begins in January, will offer courses in more than 40 cities throughout 2011. In addition, each training course immediately will be followed by testing conducted by The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO).

The Christmas tree at Wakehurst Place, in Southern England is the tallest in the UK at 35 metres. So decorating it can be a real issue. This year rental company Facelift, supplied a 46 and a 61 metre Bronto truck mounted lifts, to carry out the work, which included installing the lights with over 1,800 bulbs.

Australia’s first Tadano ATF130G-5 all terrain crane has been delivered to Goodline at its remote facillity in Port Hedland, Western Australia. As well as the 130 tonne capacity all terrain, the construction and maintenance company also took delivery of a Tadano GR-550EX rough terrain crane at the same time
