Fatal crane and platform collision
A man aged 45 has died after falling from an aerial work platform that was struck by an overhead crane at a facility in Bobstadt, north of Mannheim in Germany, last Tuesday.

Overloading blamed for NY crane collapse
The operator of the crawler crane that collapsed in New York on Wednesday has been blamed for overloading the crane. A statement from the Department of Buildings claims that the crane was lifting a load of 23,900lbs (10.8 tonnes), when the crane’s maximum capacity was around half that amount.
The tower/boom of a large crawler crane has collapsed while lifting a load of lumber in Long Island City, Queens, New York. Seven people are said to be injured, three of them were trapped under the fallen boom and suffered more serious injuries, but not to the extent that their lives are threatened.
