		<description>I went down to see this Derrick. It&#039;s a very nice set up. The heaviest piece is the turntable at 4000 lbs or so. The boom sections are around 300 lbs each, making the derrick very manageable but still capable of good picking capacities. The outriggers have multiple offsets that they can be set to for various applications. Additionally it can be swung 180 degrees without any modifications unlike many older derricks.

Operations are smooth and the operator reported enjoying running it. 

Morrow got the crane just this year and already has many jobs looking to use it. Seattle is a town that has always avoided using derricks due to the complexity of moving them into place, building reinforcement, etc. We have many cranes with good reach because of that problem. Now that we have a reasonable Derrick available, we might see them used more in a ever growing city.
