Terex shows three axle 60 tonner

Terex has unveiled a three axle 50 to 60 tonne All Terrain crane on three axles at its open day in Zweibrücken. dubbed the Challenger 3160, it is a light weight 50 to 60 tonne crane with 50 metres of main boom. It will lift over 35 tonnes to four metres radius and yet can meet 10 tonne axle loads if its counterweight is removed.

Crane operators in British Columbia must have a valid operator’s certificate by February 28, 2011. Any operator not certified by February 28 cannot legally operate a crane in British Columbia. There are still many operators who have not been assessed and time and resources are limited.

The structure of the new Sky Train transit network is taking shape at the Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix. When complete, the elevated rail system will transfer passengers between the airport’s busiest terminal, Terminal 4, and the Metro Light Rail station and East parking lots.

A telescopic crawler crane has tipped over this morning in Connecticut while installing its counterweights. The crane a brand new Mantis/Tadano -either a 77 or 100 ton capacity unit, was setting up by the side of the road in Niantic, East Lyme and appears to have been lifting one of its slabs of its counterweight prior to installing it when it went over

Italian crane manufacturer Fassi has been playing a key role in the rescue of 33 miners trapped for nearly ten weeks in Copiapo, Chile. Fassi cranes have been maneuvering the steel pipes to form the recently-completed escape tunnel that is part of one of the most complex rescue operations in mining history.
